Nomads develops a second operation to be launched in 2009

Andrés Ergas and his team are now developing a spectacular new mountain operation, which will be launched in 2009. The specific location of this new venture lays in the central zone of the Andes mountain range, which is known for its wonderful climate, the excellent quality of its snow, and the lack of high level tourism activities.

For this new investment, a maximum appeal infrastructure is being considered, with cutting edge specialized vehicles and equipment. Everything in Ergas new project will maintain the same foundations that have made Nomads of the Seas an icon in world tourism industry. Like the Atmosphere's cruise ship, this new operation will also have a reduced scale of guests which will allow each and everyone of them to be tended in an intimate and personalized manner. Finally Andrés Ergas bet points to developing an exclusive and one-of-a-kind architecture that goes beyond the expected.

Patagonia's rainforests are now considered Biosphere reserves

UNESCO has just recognized Patagonia's rainforests as a valuable ecosystem for humanity and has named the area a biosphere reserve. It is in these marvelous places located in the X and XI Regions of Chile, that Nomads of the Seas has developed its expedition cruise, where guests can travel deep into Patagonian territory.

This reserve, located in the southern region of the country, includes critical high mountain ecosystems and considerable water resources. The coastal temperate rain forests of Chile and Argentina represent approximately 33% of this ecosystem in the world. The area is considered a priority eco region by the World Resources Institute and WWF, and is included in the Global 200 list. Since this new biosphere reserve is adjacent to Argentina's Andino Norpatagónica Biosphere Reserve, a transboundary reserve could be created in the future, shared by both countries.

Nomads of the Seas adds culinary adventures, from the beginning to the end

Guillermo Rodríguez, one of Chile's most prestigious chefs, is responsible for Nomads of the Seas renovated culinary offer and gastronomical activities featuring Patagonian preparations, which include culinary feasts, tastings and in field lunches to be celebrated throughout the entire journey for all those sybarites aboard.

Everything begins with the inaugural cocktail tasting calafate, a mystical Patagonian fruit. According to popular belief, those who taste it will always go back to Patagonia. The calafate tasting is followed by a tempting inaugural dinner to fully delight in Patagonian foods such as lamb, ewe cheese, white hake, salmon, abalone and sea urchins, all prepared using international culinary techniques.

Another culinary feast is the "Patache de centolla" (King Crab in abundance). The entire meal is based on this crustacean's delicate flavour. Finally, Nomads farewell includes a tasting dinner composed by ten dishes of Patagonian preparations, each paired off with an appropriate and delicious wine chosen among the best Chilean varieties.
